NIDA is the global leader in supporting scientific discoveries that lead to reducing the negative health consequences of drug misuse and help people achieve long-term recovery. NIDA-funded research is being done across the country to discover new medications and other interventions to help people achieve long-term recovery and ensure that empirically-demonstrated interventions and services are tailored to high-risk populations, as well as able to implement services across real-world settings in diverse communities.
